Little Jimmy Backpacking Trip June 20-21, 2009

Little Jimmy was a challenging back packing trip for the boys and parents! We hiked in 2.2 miles with backpacks, set up camp, cooked our lunch then managed to hike another 1.2 miles up to the top of Mt. Islip. After taking in the beautiful view of the clouds shrouding the LA basin, we hiked back down to camp to prepare dinner then play capture the flag. All the hikers slept soundly after working so hard! The morning brought  breakfast then we packed up camp and backpacked back down to the parking lot. All involved should feel proud of their accomplishments! Thanks, leadership of Troop 14 for helping the boys to plan and execute the trip. There is a photo album under "photos" part of the website.  Sincerely, Leslie Gilpin (mom of Jeff)
